Someone has asked me for a price on combined items that I'm selling...

Is he basically asking me to end the auctions early? I'm not sure what to do. Would it be better for me to carry on with the auctions and let the items go for the highest price? I've got people watching the items - is this an indication of anything, or might they not even bid? If I tell the man that I want to carry on with the auctions, rather than ending early, what is a polite way of saying that?

he probably means combined postage

schnapps · 10/07/2007 19:42

Can't be that, they are all listed as collect only.

oh i see

just say you'd prefer to let the auction run. or don't reply at all

LazyLine · 10/07/2007 19:43

Ask him to clarify what he means.

If he does mean that he wants a Buy It Now price just tell him that you prefer to let the auction run its course. You won't be putting him off, he's obviously just hoping to get them for cheaper so he can sell them on.

These sorts of requests are very common. Just say no thanks!

When people ask me to end auctions early I reply with 'thanks for your interest but I would rather let the auction run its course, please feel free to have a bid thanks'.
I find a lot of people ask for a buy it now but they are never the winning bidder so they are just people trying to kid you into ending an auction early so they can get stuff cheap.

Oh it will be one of those mners that are always on the camping threads

schnapps · 12/07/2007 00:09

Well the camping stuff certainly seems popular. I've had lots of emails asking me for a buy it now price and for people asking me if I'll post even though they state collection only. I've got 30 people wathcing one auction and 26 watching another. My ebay account has never been so busy!
