Has anyone bought a pallet to sell on on Ebay?

I am thinking of buying a pallet of either toys or nursery items to break up and sell on.

Has anyone tried it and is it worth it financially/time wise?

A friend of mine brought something like 6000 golf balls, sold them on in lots of 3's, 6's and 9's and made about £8000! It can work, but I'd suspect there are many that don't.

Be careful initially, I buy and sell like this for a living. Most of the pallet deals you get are TOTAL rubbish...avoid any of the ones on ebay..avoid any that have arg..in the description as will be argos breakage and totally non saleable returns..avoid electricals unless you can fix them..avoid nursery goods as are 90% of the time they are broken! I made lots of mistakes when I started out and although I generally managed to cover my spend it was hard slog for no profit.

I find that buying higher end stock, although you pay out more for it initially generates a higher return! You are often better to buy from wholesalers and pick and choose the best bits. I do regularly use a pallet site and a couple of wholesalers who i find send decent stuff and reliably I personally stick to clothing, soft furnishings, lingerie, baby etc. You also need to make sure you have an outlet for the stuff you get that isn't ebayable (normally around 30% on a high end pallet). I usually sell this on at cost at a carboot etc

Hope that helps a bit. I'll check back on this post if you have any more questions.

Jenna

hi, a friend and i brought a pallet of goods from ebay called cosykids, they sell returns from mothercare. I think we paid around £270 fo r this pallet, worth about £1300, however nothing is guarenteed, things are broken beyond repair and some can be repaired,so basically it was a gamble. I figured seeing as it was worth so much, the least we can make back is what we paid for it. we managed to repair some items and keep a couple and make £70. However i dont recommend it,as it is a gamble and it was a lot of hours sellin on ebay and asking questions and going to the post office!! Luckily we made £70. however for the number of hours worked not worth it.. sorry i went on ...
