DILEMMA - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sold a lovely top on eBay to a really nice girl. Went for £7 with £2.50 postage. Came to wrap it and noticed a small hole where the security tag had been. Emailed buyer to tell her, apologised and said not to bother sending payment.

Buyer emailed back a few days later to say not to worry she would have it anyway for £6 all in (including P&P).

Agreed to do this. Waited for payment which arrived in my PayPal account this morning.

Went to get top to post and DH has thrown it away because of the hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He didn't know she still wanted it.

I feel awful and I am worried about telling her as I really don't want her to leave negative feedback. It is a genuine mistake.

What the hell do I do?????????????

The only thing you can do is email her and explain. Hopefully she'll understand and obviously give a refund.

laughalot · 29/06/2007 09:54

As j said I would just be honest and explain what has happened.

Just tell her and send the money back straight away. Sure she will understand, esp with lots of appologising.

MrsGolfPro · 29/06/2007 11:54

Well, have emailed her grovelling, refunded immediately AND left positive feedback. Fingers crossed.

Thanks.

I had similar recently. I'd sold a couple of tops which dh had then shoved in a bag with some charity stuff and taken to local charity shop.

I emailed both buyers and refunded etc. One was really nice and the other really nasty saying she didn't believe me and thought that I wasn't sending as I hadn't got what I wanted for the top.

sixlostmonkeys · 29/06/2007 13:21

excuse me for butting in but where the 'eck do you lot find these men who put things in bins and take things to the charity shop???

My ex was typical of the men I've been landed with - I even put instructions on the bin once to try to encourage him to use it - but that still didn't work...

rosealbie · 29/06/2007 14:43

I think this was a one-off for my dh actually - makes it even worse

MrsGolfPro · 29/06/2007 18:43

Mine too - must have been having an 'off' day!

She emailed back and was very lovely so all is good with the world.
