When would be the best time to start an auction, I'm selling clothes.

Should I leave it till after Christmas?

I don't see the harm in starting it now. Well, apart from possible posting delays. Are you planning on a seven day auction? I usually do the two day dispatch time. But you could do a longer dispatch time to cover yourself over the Christmas period. Then if they get the items early, bonus!

*my auctions are all running over Christmas/New Year.

Leave it until February tbh

Everyone will be buying new clothes in January sales and selling all their unwanted Xmas tat on eBay in January so it'll be a bit flooded.

Although, listings are free now so no harm in putting them on at the prices you want for them and if they sell then great, if not you just repost them

I make a practice of selling over Xmas. My reasons are:
People have a lot of time on their hands,
They may have received £for Xmas
If they live in the back of beyond, post-Xmas shopping not practical
I ave very good luck, sell between Xmas & just before NY -7 day auctions.
It has become a family tradition.
I am hoping to make between £600-800 this Xmas
