Is there a big difference between ending an auction on Sunday night vs. Saturday night?

I usually list stuff on a Thursday for a 10-day auction to end on Sunday night.

I've got a couple of biggish things to list this week, but won't be able to list on Thursday night as I'm too busy. Would you recommend listing on Wednesday night to end on Saturday, on doing a 7-day listing from Sunday to Sunday? These are quite big items and I really want to get the best price.

And please don't suggest turbolister or one of those timed things, because my life is too short to get to grips with that.

7 day sun to sun will be most effective.

Sunday IME. Gives people a chance to check out the alternatives over the weekend before bidding.

Why is this, though? Is Sunday really that much busier than Saturday night?

Maybe I should just delay listing to next Thursday.

I'd go for the 7 day too. I don't really find anything much happens till it's down to a few days left anyway as people don;'t tend to look at auctions that have more than a couple of days left.

Okay, might try that. Do you not reckon that 10-day listings better than 7-day listings? I'd always thought that way people have two weekends to look at the stuff rather than just one.

7 day ending on sunday would be better than 10 day ending saturday. The main reason for 10 day is so that you can squeeze 2 weekends in but this needs to be balanced with the - by the time 10 days have gone by people may have forgot.

Sunday is still the time when more people are on the computer - apparently people go out on a saturday can't remember what year (dacade?) it was when I went out but apparently people still do it

Check what's on TV when your listing ends too.
I made the mistake the other week and clashed with greys anatomy ...sigh

Ah yes, good thinking re. the TV thing.

Going out?

Any other thoughts on timing?

I've only sold kids clothes before, and usually time them to finish between 8 and 9pm. But maybe techy stuff (old laptop, large metal shed) should be later? I'm hoping all the techheads spend Sunday evening surfing ebay rather than getting on with useful stuff.

if you search the completed listings 9for similar items) does it show what time they finished? if it does you could work out when the higher prices happen...maybe
