Just that! Ebay has added the above to an item when all I've chosen is postage- I've not ticked any box to choose this and can't get rid of it.

Why and how do I get rid of it?

I've added a message to the item description saying postage only.

Click and collect means they can collect it from a store, like Argos.

Its not collection from your house.

Its a good thing, I prefer it as I can get to the shop more easily than the post office.

QueenoftheNights · 07/10/2018 08:53

I know what it means and I don't want it!!!!

It's not convenient for me to lug a large parcel to Argos where i can't park.

Why has this been added by Ebay???

this is the eBay information page about click and collect

It sounds like a much better option, it doesn’t cost anything and it prevents the chance of the buyer claiming the parcel never arrived.

JollyAndBright · 07/10/2018 08:58

You don’t drop it off anywhere, eBay gives you a postage label and you just send it off from the post office as you would be doing anyway.

Check your account settings. Are you listed as a private or business seller? Someone recently hacked my account, changed me to a business seller and somehow sold a shed load of non existent lawn mowers using my credentials! This changed a lot of my account settings and it took a while to realise what was going on.

JollyAndBright · 07/10/2018 08:59

^How do I use it?
Opt in to offer Click & Collect in your account settings. We'll automatically add a Click & Collect option at no cost to all of your eligible listings.^

It sounds like it’s an opt out service, so if you don’t want to use it you have to remove it in your settings.

LemonSqueezy0 · 07/10/2018 09:03

? It doesn't make ANY difference to you. You post it to Argos, same as you would to their address, it's just more convenient to the buyer...

Only trying to help....

QueenoftheNights · 07/10/2018 09:40

ok thanks! it's a default setting then and you have to opt out.

I thought I had to take it to m y local Argos which is 4 miles away and no parking whereas my PO if 400 yards up the road.

No, you just post It to Argos from the postoffice. Obviously it is up to you, but I will go with a seller who offers click and collect over one that doesn't where possible, for convenience. Smile

TruelyTruelyScrumptious · 07/10/2018 12:09

I have had 2 items I sold and they selceted click and collect from Argos- both were smashed to smithereens. I refuse to do it now.

19lottie82 · 07/10/2018 15:55

As a business seller I’ve sold thousands of items through click and collect. I’ve had a few returned as no one has picked them up, but I could literally count those on one hand. Apart from that no problems at all.

ToadOfSadness · 12/10/2018 00:03

It has been added to my listings. It is still showing as opted out in my preferences and there is no way to remove it on the listings.

I can't be doing with this, constantly messing about with the site so am going to end all the listings I spent the day putting up and worry about it another day when I can take a look at the click and collect and decide if I want to use it rather than have it forced on me like everything else they do.

19lottie82 · 12/10/2018 08:41

What’s the big deal with having it on your listings?

RedWineAllMine · 12/10/2018 15:31

It's a good thing, it just means buyers can select for it to be sent to a Argos for collection, if they are never home etc. It's more convenient to have. Doesn't cost you anything extra at all.
Why the fuss?
