I am selling something collection only. Buyer has offered to arrange and pay for own courier.

Is there any reason not to agree?

Are they paying by paypal? If so, be careful as if they put in a claim of item not received, you won’t be able to prove you sent the item as they will have arranged it themselves.

Thanks. They would pay by PayPal. I can’t see any way around it.

I knew there had to be a catch.

I wouldn’t. There are many scenarios where it could go wrong. Apart from the above, another would be their courier damages item and then the buyer claims the item is misdescribed.

You could ask for a bank transfer before the buyer collects, but not surprisingly most buyers won’t agree to this as it leaves them open to being ripped off.

Don’t do it. Someone asked me to do this and the courier only gave a time of between 8am-7pm for pick up (because they didn’t want to pay for a time slot) They expected me to wait in all day with a dog and a 4MO for a £30 item. Then left me a bad feedback because I politely declined —told them to fuck off—

I wouldn't. I always thought that it was recommended that if an item is collection only then you do not use paypal as the buyer can claim that the item was not received and paypal will refund them.

Thank you all. I’m going to say no.
