When can I open a dispute?

Have received an item on Ebay that doesn't work.

The seller is being a k**b and refuses to accept a return, saying he doesn't care about his feedback and he is leaving Ebay anyway!

I paid using Paypal and wish to start a 'chargeback' or at least open a dispute.
The dispute console says I have to wait 10 days - is this correct?

Thanks in advance,

Yes it's 10 days for the dispute, but you can escalate to a claim straight away (in the dispute)

chargebacks I'm not sure about.

remember if you do the dispute to get a refund, make sure you return it by trackable means.

all I can find is this pages.ebay.co.uk/help/tp/isgw-buyer-protection-steps. html

maybe contact your credit card sooner rather than later?

what is a k**b?

Seller will not accept a return - so what do you do? Is it possible to start a chargeback without sending back the item? I am more than willing to return it, however, the seller says he simply will not answer the door.

Thoughts anyone?

you can't get a refund without returning

Tough one! Trying to think what you can do.... maybe email and tell hom 'ok fair dos, I'll put this down to experience. Then, wait a few days, wrap the item is disguise and send by trackable means (and keep fingers crossed he will fall for it)

Could you convince him you don't intend taking it further because you have fixed the item? Just need him to be caught unawares and sign for it.

Wonder if paypal refund if tracking number indicates item was attempted delivery but buyer refuses might be worth asking advice on the ebay boards

sorry - I answered that for the paypal refund - chargeback, i dunno. Worth phoning your credit card and asking advice
