What has happened with Paypal?

Can anyone explain to me why my Paypal payments are going out as echeques now? I can see an option to make it instant like it used to be. Anyone else found this?

Not sure, it has always taken a week to clear.

echeques are when a payment has been made when tehre is no money in the paypal account, so it pulls it from the bank card - and takes about 10 days to clear.
If there is money in paypoo account then it is still instant

Salt- this has happened to me. I used to be able to send instant bank transfers successfully, but recently I haven't been given this option, only e-cheques or credit card. I just pay via my switch card which is my bank account anyway. When I emailed paypal about this, I got some idiot replying to me saying my last transfer had gone through and that my problem had been solved! The transfer he was referring to was via my credit card and not my bank account to which I was querying. Gave up on customer services after that.

hmm, thought customer 'services' would be like that so came here first. Has anyone had it go over to echeques and then successfully got it back to being instant?

If anyone is interested - I got an answer from Paypal. Expiry on my switch card has changed and i hadn't gone in and changed it on Paypal. Think they could have sent me an email to remind me instead of switching to echeques. Anyway, if anyone gets the same thing it's something to consider.
