What did I do wrong with Parcelforce?

Hi. I recently sold a double buggy on Ebay (my first ever sale!), and after the sale clicked on the link about postage. Went through to the Paypal site where I paid for postage to the buyer using Parcelforce for about £11. I printed off the postage label with the bar code, but decided not to use the collection option as I didn't want to wait in, so took the parcel to my local Post Office to drop it off.

What a parlaver! I thought I'd be in there for about 2 minutes. But 45 minutes later, with a huge queue behind me, the postmaster was still insisting that the correct postage was about £23 and I had to pay the balance. I insisted that I had filled in all the details correctly on the website and that £11 was the amount I had been charged. Three calls to the Parcelforce helpline and the Postmaster relented and took my parcel without any extra money.

Fortunately, all the waiting customers were annoyed with the PO man rather than me (phew!). But I would like to know for future sales why this went so wrong. Having looked on Parcelforce's website it does seem that the cost should have been about £23. Or do you get it cheaper if you go through Paypal. Does anybody know?

We recently sold and sent a buggy on Ebay vai ParcelForce at our local Post Office and had the same type of problems, the PO acted like they'd never done it before and like we were the biggest nuisances ever to walk the earth!

You could've used Payperdrop and it would've cost you £5.99 and been delivered by DHL.The Post Office are very expensive IMHO-at least you'll know for next time.
