Not received case still open after tracking provided?

Item not received case opened by buyer. I suspected them of not being above board as received a message approx six weeks after auction close saying 'haven't got item' nothing more. Anyway, I dug out my proof of postage, put in the tracking number and sure enough it said delivered, date and time. I also copied and pasted the message the tracking number gives.

This was a low value item (99 pence, a gamble that didn't pay off!) I don't know why people do this

My question is why the case hasn't close automatically after I submitted the tracking number which shows the item was delivered? I'm still being given the option to refund or send a message. It's still 'awaiting buyer response'

As long as you can prove it’s been delivered you don’t need to worry. You can leave it and it will time Out eventually. Or call / live chat with eBay and they will close the case if your favour, meaning your funds will be released and the buyer won’t be able to leave feedback.

Thank you. I'll contact eBay on Monday. Yes, thank goodness I still had the receipt with tracking (I should have put that information on at the time of dispatch and perhaps avoided this). Buyer hasn't responded so far anyway.
