Seller ignoring requests for refund

Lottie & co, can you help please?

Received an item described as BN & leakproof. Packaging by the manufacturer upon receipt was questionable (had clearly been opened then taped back up again) and it leaks when it is described as leak-proof.

Seller requested photos of proof which I sent. Also said I can send video if required.

He is point blank refusing to refund. Says it’s exchange only. Now ignoring any communicyI send. Am purposely not hassling him, have sent two.

What’s my timeframe please for escalating this?

Open an official return request with eBay. You have 30 days to do this from the latest date of the delivery estimate.

If it’s over 30 days you can request a return via PayPal, but ebay is preferable as then the seller has to provide a returns label, with PP you will be responsible for the return cost.

Once the return request is open the seller has a week to either send you a returns label to send the item back, or just refund you with no return. If they don’t you can ask ebay to step in and help and they will force the return.
