Ahh bit of a tricky one. But I thought here might be my best bet.

I ordered a bouncy castle off eBay on the 10th May. It was my son's birthday party on the 19th so needed it for that.

It didn't turned up in time so we ended up using our neighbours.

It came a few days after.

We haven't had it out if the box since it arrived. Because we didn't need it. But thought it would come in handy just in case. We had it so why not.

We've just put it up today and there is a tiny tiny little hole in the side.

The problem is it is not an air pump bouncy castle. It's dine with your mouth, then you push the plastic bits in.
So it will not stay up.

It's unusable at the moment because the the back hold all the sides up, So it's collapsing.

I've managed to put sellotape over it. And it's staying strong at the moment. And is usable

But I'm not happy. We paid £50 thinking we would just be able to put it up and use it. But it's broken and not my fault.

I've messaged the seller and of course they say they can't do anything. It's past it's 28 days o explained my situation and told them I'd never took it out but refuse to take it back.

I've opened a return request with eBay.

What's my chances with this?

Thanks.

Ebay won’t force a return as more than 30 days have passed since delivery. The dispute at this stage is for communication purposes only.

However, you can still open a PayPal dispute - you have 180 days to do that. The only thing is you will be responsible for the return costs (with an eBay case, the seller is responsible). If the buyer wants it back then make sure you send it back using a service that has a proof of delivery.

Use the parcel monkey website to find your cheapest option, it’s a comparison site for couriers.

Ok thanks.

I've opened a return request.

Is that a PayPal request?

Hi, no you have ebay and PayPal return requests. You have opened an eBay one, but as I explained it’s no good because 30+ days have passed since the item was delivered. Log into PayPal and find the sales record, then there will be an option to request a return.
