If you get given a strike on Ebay how does it actually affect you?

Can I re join ebay with a new name without the strike?

The answers are probably obvious but please enlighten me anyway!!!!

The strike I have been given is by the way not justified

I have tried emailing the seller - who is ignoring me

what's a strike? what did you do?

SenoraPostrophe · 22/05/2007 20:28

alright, what did you allegedly do?

sparklygothkat · 22/05/2007 20:29

doyou mean a negitive feedback???

I bid on an item - won it for £2
The same day I emailed the seller saying I would send a cheque and asked for her address as she hadnt put it on ebay.
She replied with her address

I emailed again and asked to whom should I make the cheque payable - to which she didnt reply.

Over the next month a relative died, my brother was seriously ill in hospital and both my children were unwell etc.
Because of which I didnt get online for a month. She emailed me wondering what was happening etc

As soon as I did get online I emailed and apologised etc giving the above reasons but by that time I had already been given a strike. she now has not responded

Hope that makes sense!!

how silly.

but yes, you can sign up with another email address if you have one.

I dont mind starting all over again as a newbie on ebay at all
Ill give it a go - I just wondered whether ebay allow it bearing in mind my strike status

Owing to my £2 error

no, they won't allow it - hence needing a new email address.

I think when you get a strike your account is only restricted temporarily

[hmmm] I wonder!
