Ebay have now automatically set click & Collect as a option of postage - warning!

Whilst listing some new stuff tonight I noticed that once it went live there was an option for click & Collect, collection, and standard post ie Royal Mail 2nd class or whatever you normally select as standard postage service - these options are all what the buyer can now choose on your listed item, wether you agreed to it OR not when listing in the options. I tested this as I went back to revise item and only chose Royal Mail 2nd class, didn't select any click & Collect or pick up as an option.
Now I understand why Ebay have done this, as click & Collect is where you can send the parcel to an Argos, so it's more convenient for a buyer to pick up. But I just wish they wouldn't automatically set it as standard without us agreeing to it.
So this one is for the buyers - i have checked if I can turn click & Collect off and you can - you can opt out of it if you log onto the www. Ebay desktop website (not app), click account, then site preferences -it's under postage and packing preferences in site preferences. It gives you the option to offer click & Collect, and you can select yes or no.
I've kept it as yes for now, to see if I get more sales. This is just to make sellers aware.
However I haven't yet worked out how to not offer pick up even tho I didn't select it.

I've just noticed this for the first time this week too. And for me it only appeared once the listing goes live so when you review the listing beforehand it still just has Royal Mail.

I am going to leave it on for now like you say. I am a bit concerned about someone not bothering to pick up the parcel, then I get the return and have to relist.

I find it increases my sales. I’ve been using it for years, sell about 100 items a week (maybe 5-10 to Argos’s) and have had maybe 2 or 3 returns due to non collection.

Also, you run the risk anyway if a buyer isn’t home and the parcel gets returned to the sorting office and they don’t collect it.

I just noticed this today too
I went in to see my watchers on items , scrolled down and saw click and collect!

I went in to revise a few things and it seems to have disappeared but I’m going to remove it as an option via the desktop way

I just realised today that this was turned on for my most recent listings, and had three people use it. My worry is that the eCP code sent by ebay isn’t 6 digits as they say it will be, but 8 capital letters. Is this ok or has it been corrupted somehow?

Oh that would explain it !
I always choose click and collect because most of the time the postman doesn't bother to knock , he just shoved a card through the door and it's more than a half hour walk to the sorting office !
Over the weekend I bought something and chose click and collect and the seller messaged me saying she didn't want to send to Argos and I was really confused thinking that she must have put it as an option .
