I posted in chat a couple of days ago but didn't realise there was an eBay section!

I've had a offer on an item that I need rid of. I'd normally snap hands off but buyer is overseas. Seems I have GSP on my listing.

How safe is this? I'm just worried I won't get proof that my item gets to the UK warehouse even if I used a signed for service. I have read stories that say they're signed in bulk so can't prove that items ever reached there. Item is worth about £50 so not cheap but I can't afford to refund if it all goes wrong plus then have nothing to sell.

Would you send it?

It's pretty safe. Make sure you have tracked delivery to the UK GSP centre. If it goes missing after that their responsibility and they will refund not you. Breakages still your responsibility though so wrap up carefully. We have sent a lot via GSP without problem.

The most annoying thing is we drive close to the UK GSP centre fairly often and they will not accept private drop offs so we still have to pay expensive courier charges when it would be cheaper to drop our parcels off ourselves.

Thank you for replying. How would you recommend sending to their warehouse? Is Royal Mail signed for enough?

GSP is perfectly safe, a lot safer than normal international posting. The moment t reaches eBay U.K. then you’re covered for a not received case, even if it doesn’t reach the buyer. Just make sure you send your item signed for and upload the tracking details against the sales record as soon as it’s sent.

PS Royal Mail won’t let the Shipping Centre take your parcel without some form of tracked acceptance, so no need to worry about that.

Thank you. I think I'll accept it then. I'm not guaranteed to get another offer as good. I'll send it via a Royal Mail signed for service and hope that is sufficient.
