I've just sold a pair of curtains and the buyer is asking how much the shipping to Ireland will be.Probably a dumb question but is it the same as the UK?
TIA

I suspect so, letters cost more. The Royal Mail website ought to be able to give you a good idea of cost though, if you know the weight.

IdrisTheDragon · 20/05/2007 21:53

AFAIK Norhern Ireland is the same, Eire is a different rate.

tortoise · 20/05/2007 21:53

Look on Royal mail website. So far price hasn't been much different when i have posted to there.

Bubbaloo · 20/05/2007 22:00

Thanks but I don't know the weight.

Idris-She lives in Dublin,if that helps.Geography isn't one of my stronger points.

Have you got kitchen scales? Just weigh them on there for a rough idea. Thats all i do.

Bubbaloo · 20/05/2007 22:07

Good idea-I'm off to the kitchen now.

Idris is right. Posting to NI is the same as to anywhere else in UK, but to Eire will cost the same as posting to France etc.

fireflyfairy2 · 20/05/2007 22:12

I'm in NI and it's the same as UK.

IdrisTheDragon · 20/05/2007 22:13

They weigh about 6,600 grams.

And Dublin is in Eire .

fireflyfairy2 · 20/05/2007 22:13

lol I hadn't read it was Dublin

Skribble · 20/05/2007 22:13

that would be 1.36kg

Skribble · 20/05/2007 22:14

I make it 1360g ???

IdrisTheDragon · 20/05/2007 22:16

Sorry - did calculation the wrong way .

My geography is correct though I hope .

fireflyfairy2 · 20/05/2007 22:16

2.2lb is the same as 1000g

so 3.3 is roughly around 1,500

Bubbaloo · 20/05/2007 22:17

Thanks everyone-off to look on Royal Mail's site.

Skribble · 20/05/2007 22:20

Try that again and we will say 1500g to accomodate packaging.
