Selling a high sleeper bed with drawers, bookcases etc. I wanted to do cash on collection as I thought that was best. When i tried to revise the listing to remove paypal it says paypal must be accepted as an option. Is this correct and can I just make COD clear as a preference on the listing then? I always thought paypal was a no no for large collection items? Any advice please.

All you can do is clearly state cash on delivery only in HUGE letters on your listing, and if the winner pays with PayPal then just refund them straight away and remind them.

Okay thanks, I am right in thinking it is the better option for a collection? In that I cant have any proof of delivery for a large item? Also I guess financially it would be better to not have paypal take a cut.

Yes, always cash (or bank transfer) for a collection item. PayPal leaves you wide open to being scammed.

It's annoying as it won't let you remove the PayPal option. So I always put a huge disclaimer that it must be cash only on collection and if they pay by PayPal I will refund it straight back. It is really annoying that eBay do this as has caused problems a few times. Buyers don't read whole listing and just pay by PayPal as it's given them that option. I do write in my listing that I can't remove that option.
