sold an item of furniture, cash on collection. Now,i have been in business, and thought i knew all the right things to do to stop being messed about. The buyer is slow to answer emails, was supposed to be picking up tonight, after a certain time-but never confirmed when. Now emails me ,( I picked it up at 5)-she supposed to be coming after six saying she needs a van,she now realises and,and could i manage in the daytime. Now I am reluctant to let a total stranger in my house when I am on my own,so I said weekend. No reply yet, grr. How long do i have to let her mess me about, can i do anything by ebay rules. What do you advise.I have given her my phone number-just think this is very rude and inconsiderate-my gut feeling is this is going to drag on-or she has changed her mind. Advice please.

We once had similiar - we gave them a week with the specified times we were available and said that after that time it was going back on again.

Some people are incredibly flaky

will i have to pay again to list it?

I messaged her asking her if she was having problems with her email, and if i did not hear from her by monday i would report her as non buying payer-that made her reply saying she had 10 days by ebay and was now not going to go through with the transaction(what a surprise!!)she threatens to give me bad feedback .lol.

if you put in a non paying bidder report with ebay and she doesnt reply she cant leave you negative, personally I prefer to be honest with my feedback even if it does get me a negative, I can respond to a negative.

Yes-but this is my first sale- she has replied with blackmail-"i can afford bad feedback you cant-you will have to restart your account"

Report her to eBay.

using feedback as a blackmail is against ebay rules I would forward the email to ebay and report her as a non paying bidder, leave negative feedback as well ebayers like that really annoy me what is the ebay name?

you can reply if she leaves you negative but if necessary you can close the account you have down and open a new one

Thanks-I will report her-She justifies not replying to most of my emails by saying she has 10 days by ebay rules-i pointed out that arranging a visit is by mutual arrangement- I am quite upset and shocked . i sent her a detailed route, replied very promptly to all her questions.Dont think i will do collect from home again!!

sadly there are some real twats on ebay, but mostly there are good its really unfortunate to have to deal with someone like this the first time you have any dealings on ebay. Can you make a second chance offer to the next highest bidder?

sarah7777 · 24/05/2007 20:42

Yes,thanks I might do that.
