i knew there was a reason i was looking at ebay threads...got sidetracked looking at someone elses

right so if you had sold an item, and straight away got a "payment pending, uncleared" type status on it you would wait for it to clear obviously. so if the buyer, who has years of 100% positive feedback, instant payments etc messaged you apologising profusely for the payment not being cleared because of card expiry (this isnt the same buyer i asked about before btw), and politely asked if you could send it anyway because she really wanted it soon...what would you do?

im thinking not but would like opinions!

No way!

I'd be really apologetic but say that sadly, you are unable to make exceptions. Can you offer a faster postal service or offer collection & cash if it'll make it easier/faster for her?

RubberDuck · 15/05/2007 18:22

(what I mean by faster postal service is special delivery before 12 or similar)

I would if they have 100% positive feedback and have been buying selling recently.
In fact I dont wait for cheques to clear either, i figure that if someones went to the effort of posting a letter(BIG EFFORT to me lol) then it will clear.
I have done over 1300 transactions on ebay. 1 non payer in that time. Newbie.

I did because I'm a soft touch.

My paypal was down due to my Bastard Bank, I sold a Teletubbies push along NooNoo.

The girl who won it mailled me to say she couldn't pay by any other method and she had a SN son so would I mind sending it out to make him happy until my paypal was sorted.

I did and she paid a few weeks later. It was only about £6 so it wasn't the end of the world if she hadn't paid.

I've had things sent to me and also sent out items before payment received. If they've been using their account recently and have a large amount of feedback 100% positive. Buy I don't often sell high value goods.

depends on the value of the item and the feedback. I have done it before and never had someone not pay
