go in at something you think is reasonable and that they would accept. if thy accept you have effectively done a buy it now with them.

what you watching? (nosey emoticon) !!

You can usually only submit one offer so make sure it's really your best!

Oh that is useful to know Creolas.

I am watching a holiday.

So if they accept the offer do they withdraw it from the higher priced buy it now?

If they accept your offer the deal is done.

I had a pair of tap shoes this week and I listed them at £12.50 or best offer. I had decided I wanted no less than £10. I had offers ranging from £5 to £9 and was tempted to take the £9 offer but didn't. Today someone offered me £8 and I declined. Same person came back and bought it at the full BiN price. She obviously wanted the shoes but had offered me too little in the first place. She then only had the option to pay the full price.

Hops that makes sense!

Ah I think so.

Could they decide on offers after it has finished after seeing if they get their buy it now price though?

You only get 48 hrs to accept or decline an offer. You might get a couple within that time to compare, but you lose the offer if you don't reply within 2 days.

right thanks for that . now have to convince DH it is a good idea to buy a holiday off of eBay!
