Unlock phone or not?

My upgrade is being delivered this week so I’ll be selling my old iPhone 6 on eBay. I’m on EE. Is it worth unlocking? Or should I just sell it as it is and a buyer could unlock if they wanted?

A phone will be worth more if it is unlocked, yes. If you phone EE then they should do it for free.

A word of advice though, I use eBay to sell most things, but not mobile phones, it’s too much hassle and the scam risk is higher that most other items.

Advertise the phone on gumtree or Facebook and sell it for cash on collection only, iPhones go quickly, there’s no chance of being scammed (as long as you check the notes the buyer pays with), plus you don’t have to pay the PayPal / ebay fees.

No worries. As long as you price the phone competitively, then you will sell it very quickly on gumtree / Facebook.

I always type in huge letters, no offers please. You still get chancers offering you a stupid price but you never need to wait long before a serious buyer comes along.
