Ebay - put in claim - how long to be resolved?

I sent off details of a claim to ebay on 23rd March. I bought an ipod which I never received - paid by bank transfer so can claim under the buyer protection program. Does anyone have any idea how long the process takes? Are we talking months & months ... rather worried I'm going to forget about it.

claiming through paypal is not exactly speedy usually taking quite a few weeks and I know they have a backlog at the moment, have you tried calling them

Thanks for replies. I have put in a claim through ebay as the seller didn't accept paypal - I paid via bank transfer. I think it would have been more straightforward if it was paypal. Still really about it - he kept emailing me saying he was just about to post it.
