I have had an ebay account for over 12 years- no negative feedback as a buyer or seller or any problems. Unfortunately someone hacked into my account from America and bought items to be sent to Russia. They locked me out of my account, changed my postal address to theirs (so I have their address and phone number!) and changed my e-mail to theirs. They also hid the details and deleted any e-mails in my inbox so I wouldn't see them.
Both Paypal and Ebay recognised it as unusual activity and so refunded my money. However despite changing my passwords someone is still accessing my account from Russia. I can see what they are browsing to buy and the screen keeps changing to Russian, plus all prices are in rubles! I am now getting e-mails from ebay suggesting items that this bloke has been looking at.
I am trying to close my account but it takes 30 days. I now don't trust ebay or paypal. I don't understand how this happened as I am very careful about clicking on strange e-mails or sites. I have changed all my passwords for everything. It is a really unpleasant feeling.
