I booked him last night. I was recomended him by another mumsnetter last year. Things have changed now. He nolonger takes paypal and you have to send him a cheque. I took it that he would pick up when he recieved it.I thought I smelled a bit of a rat last night. Can I go back on this now that I have read his feedback. I haven't sent the cheque yet.here would you take a chance?

Just looked at the feedback - it's not looking good!
Would tell him you've changed your mind/had a change in circumstances, and that you'll pay his ebay fees so he's not out of pocket.

AnAngelWithin · 03/05/2007 18:15

erm...cancel the cheque pretty damned quick!!

Bananaknickers · 03/05/2007 18:18

NO DEFINATLY NOT DO NOT I SAY DO NOT USE THIS MAN.

munz · 03/05/2007 18:20

(he's a joke doens't respond to emails, also when I raised a paypal dispute he wouldn't respond to them, paypal refunded me anyways as it was his fault. DO NOT USE HIM can't stress that enough.)

hertsnessex · 03/05/2007 18:20

id say you no longer need him and leave it at that.

Was the item £4.25?
Not sure, but less than £1.
And he can start a non-paying bidder dispute to claim his FVF (final value fees) back, without you getting a strike from ebay.
Seems the best way out of the situation.

What does 'booked a bad ebayer' mean?

Bananaknickers · 03/05/2007 18:27

I booked him to deliver an item I sold

I recommended him last year, I think he gets bogged under. Hes been ok when ive booked him.
I would email, mention your concerned because of all of his negs and see if he responds.

Bananaknickers · 03/05/2007 18:33

hi Charliecat. Yes it was you but I wasn't gonna say. I used him after you recomended him and he was great. He had some bad feedback then too , but nothing compared to this. Think I might say the item has been broken and don't need him.The item is expensive and I can't afford to loose the money

Dont blame you TBH Wonder why hes not doing paypal anymore? And someones saying hes got £650 and no goods been sent
I wouldnt use him on and expensive item. Something easily replaced, yes, but nothing thats going to cause you grief.

sixlostmonkeys · 03/05/2007 19:01

he will have stopped using paypal because buyers can claim their money back with paypal.
he is obviously anticipating not delivering the goods, so to speak, and is making sure he doesn't have to refund any money.
