sold an item- at what stage will the buyer find out my address?

That's it really. I originally wanted the item to be collected because it's big and no box but forgot we are away most of the weekend. I'm worried about him knowing our address and us not being around probably daft I know!

The sold email from ebay says his address so does that mean he knows mine?

If he has paid via paypal then he would know your address. Why don't you email him and ask him to arrange a time early next week to collect?

he will get your address straight away from the invoice etc.
I'd do as mumto3girls says - maybe explain that you will have a house full over the weekend and wouldn't be able to manage with the collection as well (tell him you're having a wake, that'll stop him from getting snotty)

Thanks for replying. Panic over thankfully- turns out they were free today and I suggested a rendevous place and all fine- deal done. He paid cash but not really bothered if he knows my address now anyway. Just didn't want him getting snotty about me not being around at the weekend!

So...for future ref...does a buyer only find out your address once you have sent the invoice/ paypal stuff?

I think they get your details once they have won, even before the invoice. No one gets your details until this.
