Memory for a computer £20 worth. Someone from Turkey 0 feedback. They are willing to pay the extra £1.50 for sending to Turkey but not the £6.50 for tracked.

No chance.

GreasyFryUp · 03/02/2018 18:20

That's what I thought. Keeps sending me emails saying I can trust him.....

No. If they won’t pay the extra for the tracked service then don’t do it.

TheMogget · 03/02/2018 18:41

Nope

treeofhearts · 03/02/2018 18:42

No chance. And the emails are exactly why I wouldn't trust him. He pays or it gets relisted, period.

GreasyFryUp · 03/02/2018 19:03

Thanks. Just wanted to know I wasn't being unreasonable!

Absolutely definitely not. And anyway, even if you do send tracked abroad through Ebay global shipping programme, it only tracks it to uk. Once it leaves there it isn't trackable. Such a ball ache posting abroad, which is why I opt not to.

RedWineAllMine · 03/02/2018 22:49

Also his keenness in emails tells me he may be up to no good, and the 0 feedback!

Ihavepatrick · 03/02/2018 22:50

No chance. Block him.

TheFlis12345 · 06/02/2018 21:09

I will for low value items within the UK with proof of postage as that covers up to £25, but I don't think it covers you posting abroad.

Vitalogy · 08/02/2018 15:48

Under a fiver but not abroad.

ToadOfSadness · 13/02/2018 12:20

This is why I stopped posting abroad and no I wouldn't do it. Even in the UK I am using tracked more often because of problems when people are out when the item is delivered/ dumped on the step, kicked about in the depot like a football/no card left and item returned.

Low value items I shove in the postbox if they fit, everything that doesn't fit gets a POP, over about £15.00 it gets tracked, then I can see if it has arrived because less people leave feedback these days and I like to know things have reached their destination.

MagicFajita · 13/02/2018 12:25

No. I post all ebay sales second class signed for.

MaybeDoctor · 07/03/2018 17:20

I tend to sell low value items, post 2nd class and hope for the best.

19lottie82 · 07/03/2018 20:00

If you’re posting a parcel (not signed for), then you get a proof of delivery online, using the reference number on the proof of postage. I think you’re also insured up to £20. So really not worth paying the extra £1 or so if it’s worth less than that.

Pixelpuffin · 14/03/2018 22:49

As other posters have stated, absolutely not
Bear in mind you only have paypal protection provided the item is sent tracked or recorded

eBay Global shipping is tracked door to door. Even if you don't send it tracked to the hub, they email you when it has been dispatched & when delivered. YOU NEED TO UPLOAD THE TRACKING TO EBAY FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.
The easiest way is to just print your postage through eBay, it uploads the tracking automatically
You get a 2D royal mail label - eBay tracks these & marks them when they are delivered.
If you get a POP, you get the number on there, just upload it to eBay under the item & it shows when delivered. I used to send everything over £10 tracked, now, I wait until it is over £20 - I sell mostly jewellery, so, it goes in a small letterbox friendly box, straight in the pillar box. I have had several people stating non delivery, when you point out the proof of delivery on eBay, they amazingly find it!
Sadly, I assume that all buyers on eBay are dishonest, although the vast majority are not, but, cover yourself from the outset & you won't go far wrong.
