Selling overseas?

a potential buyer has messaged me asking if i will send overseas and what the postage would be. I hadn't really considered this before. I got stung by Royal Mail the other week by pricing something on their website which when i took to the post office, they would not let me send it unless i paid extra (telling me website was wrong) i had to pay £4 extra postage myself to get the item to the buyer within the promised time, i was not amused. not really trusting their website now.

so anyway...is there anything i need to be aware of if i posted overseas? (europe).

Ensure that they pay you in sterling!

Nothing really to be aware of.
Different prices for printed papers (books, magazines) and small packets.
Weigh with the packaging on and allow for difference in weighing scales as overseas mail goes up in small increments (sp?)
Add the extra for your packaging and time etc.
oh, and check whether they want airmail or surface mail - tho there isn't much in the price for Europe, but it sure does take a lot longer to get there via surface.
