Why ask whether item is still available after the auction has ended?

I don’t get it. There were lots of watchers for my item and no bids when it ended last night. This morning, I get a message about whether it’s stull available.

Why didn’t they just bid?

Because sometimes people dont want to get in a bidding war? Now they can just deal with you and hopefully come to an arrangement with no stress of being outbid! Ive done it.

Because sometimes people fully intend to bid near the end of the auction and life gets in the way and you forget and miss it ending

Quick message to see if it is still available if you really want it and it may be yours without the bidding war and going over the price you want to pay

i’ve done this a couple of times when i’ve missed the end of the auction.

In case the winning bidder doesn’t pay? Happens quite frequently, so no harm in asking!

I have had this in the past. Once I asked the person if they had missed the end of the auction and they said no. Unfortunately I had returned it to the shop, had listed it as I was trying to save a trip so she missed out.

Sometimes people do miss the end and don't know about sniping programs.

I had one 'miss' the end of a BIN recently, she had been watching it from day one and could have made an offer. After it ended she sent a message asking if I would accept whatever her offer was, we agreed on a price and then I said I would relist it. It would have been easier if she had made an offer in the first place, especially as she had 30 days to do it.

I once missed the end of something, asked if it would be relisted and it was, cost me more though, but I wanted it.

Sometimes there is no logic, sometimes circumstances.

They have a life that doesn't revolve around your eBay listing?

Bride, so just bid your max or snipe using a program, and if you get outbid, no big deal as their life doesn't revolve around my auction.
