eBay sellers / items remove from ebay

What’s up with eBay recently? I have been buying off their for over a decade with few problems. In the last month I have opened. Five cases!

Two things I bought over Christmas have been deleted so I’m guessing both fishy. They add up to £50 with p&p both branded but sellers had great feedback. One seems pointless trying to fake, the other was silver jelewery but I paid a price was willing to take a gamble on. A bit more than I’d pay for costume jewellery but not much more.

What’s the chances of getting my money back? I’m going to delete eBay soon as recently only 50% of the sellers have posted. I checked both sellers feedback. Both was high numbers, good feedback 😭

Ebay normally finds in favour of the buyer, so if you've paid and haven't received your items eBay should refund you.

I wouldn’t necessarily worry if an item has been removed.
It could be fishy yes, but ebay are also a little over zealous when it comes to removing items that are fine.

If it doesn’t arrive then yes, open a case. If it arrives and there’s something wrong with it then yes, open a case. But until then just sit tight.

I bought both over seven days ago. I didn’t even know they had been removed until I had a weird private email off a seller.

I can’t even see the listing so opened two cases. In the case I can see one has tracking number so I’m hopeful that one might turn up. The other one I’m not so sure as private email saying I can have the tracking info if I want it 🙄

Seems the tracking number is invalid on the more hopeful item ...

If there’s no sign of the items 7 days after you opened the case, then just ask ebay to step in and help, and they will refund you.

Phew! Both cases opened this morning have been resolved already in my favour and I have been refunded.

Last two cases wasn’t this quick and I still have one open case so there’s obviously something going on for both items to be removed and me refunded so quickly. The item with the tracking ID was invalid so possibly just made up to sell no existent items.

I’ve been buying and selling on eBay for a years and this week for the very first time I had a message from them to tell me that one of the items I had bought (a buy now charging cable from a seller with thousands of excellent feedback) had been withdrawn or was not available and that if I had paid for it, (which I had) then the sale was likely to proceed as normal, but if it didn’t I wouldn’t lose out and eBay would step in to help. The message included a link to the resolution centre.
The item arrived within the normal time and works fine, but when I went to feedback I was unable to do so. Putting two and two together to make five I’m assuming that what I’ve bought is fake, but checking it against the original cable it looks no different.
A couple of years ago OH had a couple of items he had listed withdrawn because they contravened eBay rules on adult content. The message he received from eBay made it sound as though he was trying to peddle pornography when nothing could have been further from the truth - he was simply selling LP records by well known artists that had been openly displayed in high street record stores without causing offence and whilst the covers undoubtedly contained nude images, at the same time his listings were withdrawn others seller’s listings were left to stand.
OH contacted eBay to try and find out why his items has been withdrawn when the same items were still being listed by others, but he got nowhere and came to the conclusion that either someone had reported him or that he had fallen foul of a random check. In the end he relisted the items by obscuring the naked body arts with bits of paper!

I have had this too, but the seller had good feedback and no way could the item have been fake, their listings just vanished.

I sent a message but had no reply, possibly because Ebay stop those too when an account is on hold. I think it may have been a case of unpaid fees.

I waited and the item arrived. Sometimes Ebay close accounts for odd reasons, seller may have been at an address where someone else had incurred debts or been banned and they had blacklisted the address, fees might have been late, there are other reasons. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt before opening a case. Seven days is not a long time for something to be in transit.

I've also had an item I've not received be withdrawn from eBay...so I can't even leave feedback. I'm told it's been dispatched do I'll sit tight for now as other post had been delayed.

It was a really cheap item but that's not the point...if I've paid I want my item or my money back.

I'm guessing the seller was selling fakes.
