sold a book of Irish Airs on Ebay at the weekend, posted it on Monday and it arrived in today.

Got a lovely email from the buyer today which made all my effort feel worthwhile (she also sent me a lovely one after she'd won the auction too)

"Dear XXXX, The above book arrived this morning and I am so pleased! It contains all the beautiful airs I have been singing into a tape for my son to hear..... He plays Irish harp beautifully - and Tomas O'Canainn, who compiled the book is an old neighbour from Derry. He is Dean of Engineering at University College Cork but all his life was involved in Irish music and plays uilleann pipes. I see there is a double cassette set containing all the airs in the book available so getting that will be my next task. The book is on its way to Glasgow today where my son is based. Thank you."

Isn't it nice when someone actually makes you feel like it was worth the effort .

That's lovely. I like it when you can get a bit of a rapport going with someone you have bought from or sold to. A guy asked me if I could on to something for a few weeks as he was going on hols & when I said hope he'd enjoy himself he said it was a big family get-together & after the first few days' honeymoon period was over he'd prob spend the rest of the time hiding. Made me laugh as I imagined this guy lurking behind palm trees etc every time an auntie walked by
