I have just had an email about some jeans i sold back in February! She said this

hiya, sorry its taken me so long to contact you but my boyfriend thinks i shouldnt let things like this go. I never received the jeans i bought from you. the post office did have a package but it got sent to the wrong address and eventually got sent back to the sender. was that you ? i have other things i bought from ebay that never arrived and i dont know which item got sent back and which items just never arrived in the first place.

I haven't recieved a returned parcel and its VERY unlikely i have the proof of postage still. I normally keep for about a month then assume item has been recieved!

What should i do?

Just tell her you haven't received it back and don't have the proof of posting any more. Dp says she's left it too long to start a dispute anyway(has to be within 45 days). Advise her kindly that it is best to mention problems sooner. Nutter.

No idea but think they have 60 days to contact you so that would be why she is doing it now.I would be reluctant to refund but don't know what the ebay reaction would be if you didn't.How much did they sell for?If it was £1-2 I would refund but take a while (investigating time?) and see if she gives up.NO idea if it waas more.

They sold for £6 plus postage. On the 19th Feb. Really not keen to give refund because i can't claim it back from royal mail without proof of postage.

I have had this before. I basically replied with similair to what you have said in that I dont keep proof of postage after 30 days as would assume any issues would have been raised by then. I am afraid I am unable to help you with this as I have not had the pack returned to me and had thought you had the item.
Thanks and sorry

wonder if its the same person as your post sounds very similair and think mine was an item of clothing.

Nemo2007 · 19/04/2007 22:31

oh would also add that you used address in her paypal/ebay account and it is her responsibility to have checked it.

tortoise · 19/04/2007 22:34

Thanks Nemo. I will leave it until tomorrow to reply.
Address would of been exactly as on paypal because i put the reciept in a documents inclosed thing and have the address showing to save me writing it on a label.
