Buyer is saying a dress is a top!

Buyer purchased a tulle dress off me it has lining inside but not fully so she is now claiming that it's a top and not a dress. Zara have advertised the dress as a dress on their website. She actually claimed it was a crop top LOL. I did put a pic up of the dress but she's saying I'm
Dodgy as it wasn't full length

I cannot be bothered with the hassle so I asked her if she'd like a refund for the full cost of the item bar postage but she's being extremely rude to me

Will she win this? Ive asked her to go ahead and open a return request but she hasn't yet. Is that snad when the pic clearly shows that it's a DRESS?

Did you state the actual length in the Ebay advert? in cm or inches, I mean, drop from collar to bottom hem?

If she hasn’t opened a return request yet then sit tight and don’t contact her again. Chances are she won’t bother.

If she does then, if you have a screenshot of the Zara page you could fight the return request (I’m guessing she will go for the not as described route). You can’t upload pictures in the resolution centre though, so I’d message it to her via an eBay message, then phone ebay to discuss your case (they will be able to see the photo if you have sent it to her).

BUT you aren’t guaranteed to win I’m afraid, eBay are very pro buyer and anti seller in these situations. Often when you think common sense will prevail, it doesn’t.
It might be easier just to accept the return if she does open a case. However if she doesn’t you will need to refund the whole amount (inc original postage cost) And cover the return postage (if you want it back).

I didn't measure the dress, it was described as midi. I have sent her the screenshot from Zara but she's being extremely rude. I have told her to send the return request but she's ignoring it and instead sending me rude messages! I think she wants a refund without formally requesting one, which I will not do.

Yup, don’t send her anything without an official request. She may have a history of this kind of thing so may be reluctant to open another request which will put her on eBay’s radar.

PS don’t correspond with her again unless she opens a return request

Bet she's going to ruin my feedback

If you a curious to how much of a dick she is, go to her feedback page and there will be a tab for “feedback left for others”, so you can see if she’s a serial neg leaver or not.

This is why I no longer use Ebay as a seller, they always side with the buyer and it's endless hassle. Gumtree all the way, cash only.

She's left neg feedback for others who have otherwise 100% feedback
I've used eBay for 10 years and not had a neg feedback so if she leaves one I am going to be

In that case I’d push on with fighting it and appealing your case to ebay.

If she does open a return request or leave negative feedback then contact ebay (until you speak to someone based in the U.K.) and push the evidence you have that it is a dress, so you haven’t done anything wrong.

They will be able to check your messages between each other and work out why she is being a dick.

Thanks lottie, I will defo appeal it. The U.K. Customer service people are great with eBay so hopefully they'll side with me!

In future take photos with a tape measure included, it puts these kind of people off.

You could also report her to Ebay for harassment. It might not do any good but will be on record.
