Not that I begrudge donating things to charity. However, was selling two items and it was only when someone won an auction I asked my dh if he had seen the bag containing them and he owned up to having taken them to charity over two weeks ago!
One buyer was really understanding, the other not so accusing me of making up a story. She thought I was unhappy with what she had paid for it when actually I was really pleased. Wondered if similar had happened to anybody else?

I have heard of this happening before - but crikey, I'd be gutted if it happened to me.

i was in my local charity shop recently - it sells mainly books. there was a woman in searching through the books frantically. the staff were helping her to look. I heard them mention the title and I knew it was an expensive hardback book. I couldn't work out why she was so frantic...yeah if you want a particular book you look out for it but.... then I heard her tell someone that she had got it from the library and her hubby had included in with the box on donations to the shop

Well what I can't understand is why my dh suddenly decided to take the bag to the charity shop, very out of character. I didn't go and try and retrieve the clothes as they have already been in there two weeks. Hope the charity shop made a bit of money on them though!
