..... been selling and buying on ebay for a couple of yrs and had 100% feedback. now some bloody woman has left me neg feedback saying item was well worn and high postage. so so so cross. {angry}

it was for a beutiful designer dress, which had some loose sequins (which was mentioned and photographed) and some slight colour run (hardly noticeable but again mentioned and photographed). it was a lovely item and i adore it and only sold it as its slightly too small, actually thought i would get a decent price for it and it ended up selling for 8 measly bloody quid.
postage was more as she was in france fgs!

so now am bloody livid as she didnt even contact me before leaving the feedback and now my good reputation has been damaged. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Do you have the opportunity to respond on your feedback? I would do that then forget about it; if I see a seller with lots of positive then the odd negative feedback I don't tend to bother too much (wouldn't put me off buying anyway, especially if it was explained). Wouldn't rule out an email to her to point out what you have just said though!

misdee · 06/04/2007 19:49

oh i hate it when they dont contact you to sort it out and just leave neg straight away.

respond to the feeback by saying that no contact from buyer to let you know there was a problem.

hi, just done it! tho you dont get much space to write much of a reply. could write an essay. wish i hadnt sold it now. plus she knew price of posting before she bid- i didnt force her to did i?! and frankly if i had paid that little for a frock worth prob nearer £200 i wouldnt flippin complain if one arm was hanging off! you'd prb pay more in a charity shop.

Why don't you send her a friendly message pointing out that she didn't approach you, and you would be willing to refund if she returns it to you, and ask if she would agree to mutually withdraw feedback? Your score wouldn't be affected then.

crokky · 08/04/2007 22:10

Agree with JetPeanut. I have had a similar experience to mamatres and was furious as it was my first bad feedback on over 700 transactions.

When I sell things now, I don't leave feedback for the buyer until they have left feedback for me and I know the item has been received and they are happy with it - and I state this in the listing. If you get a negative, then you can also leave them a negative - this gives them more incentive to agree to mutually retract feedback.

on your behalf mamatres

mamatres · 09/04/2007 09:53

crokky and jetpeanut... good plan. though it makes me annoyed that i should offer her money back when this is against my stated refund policy (ie i will only refund if item is faulty in some way and not described as such). i feel like if i offer her refund i am admitting rubbish service (which i'm not) kind of dont want her to 'win' iyswim!

how do i go about withdrawing feedback?

I know it's annoying but it happens to most people eventually. It happened to me when someone cashed my cheque and then claimed I never sent payment. I was gutted but you soon get over it. Just get some transactions over with so the negative goes off the first page, IYSWIM.

Just respond to the negative calmly and don't worry, it won't put people off.

You don't have your reputation ruined.

Check out my negative feedback sarah6151 and I called a seller a nob!!!

I only have 98% from this but I still sell. Obviously I wouldn't recommend such a rude reply ( thought I was replying directly to him, didn't know about feedback), but state your case and don't worry about it, honest.
