Hi, just after some advice re PayPal and this seemed the most relevant place to post. I arranged for somebody to purchase and deliver something to me from a shop that I couldn't get to. This person offers this particular service as a business and I sent the money via goods & services. Anyway, long story short they didn't do it and I have messages from them saying they will refund within 5 working days. This didn't happen. They kept promising but it didn't happen so I've raised it as a claim. They are now ignoring me and have to respond by the end of this week to PayPal. I'm sure I have a fairly strong case as they won't be able to prove delivery and I have messages from them
saying they will refund and I can send these messages to PayPal if required. I think I'm just a bit nervous as it's quite a lot of money they are withholding. Anyone had a similar experience and could offer any advice? I have been messaging them everyday to try to get some response but nothing.

Since you were sensible and sent the money as a payment for goods/services, you will almost certainly get a full refund. Just wait until you can escalate the case and PayPal will sort it for you.
Since the person can't prove delivery, they don't have a leg to stand on.

This is what I'm hoping and she told me to send it by goods and services so we are both protected so it doesn't really make any sense. Thanks for the reassurance.

Zippy is right, if you would have paid via friends & family you would of lost your money for sure. Thankfully you paid via goods & services. You can open a case after so many days, if it's not resolved by the time given then paypal step in at your request. They most certainly will refund you from their account without their permission. They woop ass!

Ring PayPal.
I had to in the past after a problem with an ebay seller and they were very helpful.
Pretty sure it must happen a lot!
