How long would you wait before offering a second chance offer?

I sold a washer / dryer this morning for collection. My buyer has an address about 4 hours drive away, and when scrolling through the feedback there were 6 that said he'd not paid for or collected items. I have a very strong suspicion he'll do the same here. I sent him a message after he won asking when a good time to collect is, and I've heard nothing back.

It's only been 12 hours or so but the sooner I offer to the second bidder, the more likely they'll accept - I don't want to wait long enough for them to have bought another one, especially as there's only £2 between the high bidder and the second. How long should I wait before offering?

It's up to you. You can do it right away if you like, I would. I don't wait around for time wasters. It's valuable time that could be spent in being sold to someone else before it's too late and they loose interest.
Also, please don't accept paypal for collection items. It's cash only in these circumstances. Even if they arrange their own pick up/courier, the person picking up must give you cash on arrival. There is a massive fraud loophole in paypal with cash on collection or pick up items so large they they can't be posted.
