Even though I haven't. [puzzled]
It's from someone called 'Brithany Lake' with a gmail address:
"hello,

What's up with that negative feedback you left me? I will let negative
too if you don't cancel it. please let's solve this problem.

please reply asap"

Is it someone phishing for valid email addresses for spamming purposes or something - the name sounds made-up? I don't want to reply, have no idea what she's talking about...

Just checked for you and the user doesn't exist so yes a phishing email

shouldbedoingsomethingelse · 26/03/2007 16:16

was it an ebay thing? if so forward the email to ebay and let them sort it.

geekgrrl · 26/03/2007 16:16

ok, thanks . they could have gone for a slightly more believable moniker, couldn't they?

Ooooh. I consider myself warned.

Actually I only ever respond to ebay emails through the myebay page rather than from my email account. Safer that way.

it's as exciting as my life gets, fishy one

Report it to ebay too. Forward it to [email protected].

ReluctantPubCleaner · 26/03/2007 16:18

Was Brithany Lake spelt like that, with a gap between? If so, as Pixiefish has confirmed, this is a phishing email because eBay users don't use spaces. Avoid like the plague!

geekgrrl · 26/03/2007 16:20

yes, it was just from someone's gmail account to dh's gmail account (which I am using for ebay).

they want you to panic and press reply you then put your ebay username and password in and they have all your details and can hi jack your account - only ever responde to emails in ebay if the email is not there its a fake report it to ebay - My dh was got on one of these and before we new it we were selling thousands of pounds worth of motorbikes in America !
