How long do you list until you give up?

How many weeks do you wait for an item to be sold before you take the list down?

Up to a year, probably. Depends how much I can be asked.
Some things sell rarely but for a good price.

To infinity and beyond Grin
There's an automatic relist if you want.

The longest I've listed for is a couple of months.

I usually list for about 3 weeks, and then reduce the price slightly - and write that I've reduced the price on the listing.

I have pulled items from sale before, and put them on again at different times of the year if they haven't sold after I've applied a discount. I do this as I think some of my items have sold for a lot less than I feel they should. I've only ever sold a few items that I've added a reserve price to, so I no longer bother with that anymore.

Depends how much it's worth and how badly I want rid of it. Generally I will reduce the price before removing it from sale.

I have the option of returning it to where I got it for store credit.

I'd just do that. On eBay you're not going to get what you paid for it and then you will have to pay postage costs and 13% eBay and PayPal fees.

Yeah that's true. However I prefer cash than get something else I'm not keen on. But since this is not selling maybe I should just do that.
