How to price eBay items: How low do you go?

Pre-owned and brand new items. How do you price them?

How many percent off do you deduct before you think you'd rather keep the item than sell at that price?

I keep it if I'm still using it.

I like to make minimum £1 profit on anything I bother to sell. Less than that & it goes to charity shop or maybe gumtree will get the minimum £1 profit. Other people would accept 5p or no less than £10.

Have a look to see what the item is selling for then go from there. I usually try to get half of what I bought the item for new. Clothes unless designer go for a pittance a lot of the time. New items I try to get most of my money back, if the item is quite rare or in demand. Mind you, I'm in no big rush to sell my stuff so I don't mind waiting it out. Like you say, if they take months to go, better to give away to charity rather than sell for 99p
What sort of items are you wanting to sell?

I'm a hoarder so I have some leather jackets, sneakers, dresses up. I'm usually fine with waiting it out for a long time (I sold some leather jackets after a year of listing - when the right season came) but I feel like my place has too much stuff now.

I price my items based on the sold / completed listings of similar items.

I never think. " oh I paid £60 for this so I want to get £30 back "

If it's a Toast Linen Blouse I look up sold Toast Linen blouses then price to sell.

I hate clutter though and I constantly sell / clear out so I have very little attachment to things so just glad to get rid.

However in saying that I rarely sell items for less than £10 .

I list everything buy it now for what I am happy for it to go for. Like others have said I'm happy to wait it out for the right price. I sometimes list a bit higher and accept offers- that way buyer feels like they're getting a bargain and I get the price I'm after.
