How long is a reasonable time to wait before hearing from a seller to say your item has been posted?

I only paid on Thursday so it's obviously really early still but I usually get messages saying when they'll post the item...

It depends, it should state on the listing when an item will be delivered. You can work backwards and work out when it should have been posted.

However some sellers sometimes don't or forget to mark an item as dispatched. I'd be more concerned if it doesn't arrive by the estimated delivery date.

Thursday was only 2 working days ago so I wouldn't worry too much at this point.

There is a stated dispatch time on the listing (somewhere).
Mine is 3 days by default. Only business sellers tend to have 1 day.
That's BUSINESS days. So weekends & bank hols don't count as elapsed time.
Some people have theirs set to unhelpful times like 10 days!
You need to check the terms & conditions that you already agreed to.
If it's a crazy time like 10 days, you can beg them to send it sooner. Depends if they are in another country or something, though.

Check where the seller is sending from- ie uk or abroad. Stuff from abroad, 2 weeks; stuff from China, a month.

If from the uk, wait a week. Seller will have either posted in that time, or the item will have arrived. if neither, contact the seller to ask when it was posted.

If you check your sales record under your purchase history there will be an estimated delivery date. If this has passed then contact the seller, if you don't get a satisfactory response then open a not received case.
