Am I justified in complaining?

I bough a pair of BN hush boyfriend jeans on eBay. Seller used the hush photo, no other photos (should have asked for more, I realise now). Anyway, jeans arrived, seem new, seem genuine, but they are the wrong bloody colour (dark rather light blue); I have a pair of the jeans in question, so not in any doubt. This is justifiable grounds for a complaint, right?

So do you want to return them?

If so, simply contact the seller and explain.

If they refuse or don't respond then open a case - item not as described.

Hi sheldon. I have already contacted seller; I guess I just wanted a sense check as to whether escalating would be reasonable. Thanks!

Yes, it would be reasonable. Just make sure that you make clear what your reasoning is. You don't want to return them because you don't want them, you want to return them because they were not as described in the listing (I assume the photo showed the wrong blue).

In the latter case the seller should either offer a full refund and in addition return postage/label or a refund without return (which is what happened the last time I had a similar problem).

Yes they sent you jeans in a different colour, you should complain.

If you want to return them make sure you open an official return request with eBay (even if the seller says "just return them to this address"), this keeps everything by the book to avoid any problems down the line, and you will get a pre paid returns label.

Wow - great advice everyone, thanks! First time I've had anything go wrong, so good to have your input.
