Insertion fee..

New to ebay, does anyone know does the insertion fee only apply
if the item sold?

No you get charged the insertion fee even if the item does not sell. You are normally granted some free listings though each month which should cover you unless you are having a mass clear-out. Not sure what the number is for private sellers at the moment. It should tell you on the myebay homepage.

It used to be 20 listings per month, may have changed although I list up to that amount each month and don't pay insertion fees.
