This is a friend of a friend really. But I admire what she's trying to do SO much that hope you don't mind me drawing attention to it here.
You can see one of her auctions here, but here's some of the text from her auctions by way of explanation:
This is part of a charity auction to raise funds for my husband who is 38 and severally disabled due to a accident many years ago which has left him 80% disabled for life. He also suffers with heart trouble and had a heart attack a couple of years ago .He also has undergone many spinal operations which unfortunately have all been unsecsessfull. In November last year his disabled scooter broke beyond repair and ever since has been virtually house bound. My husband used his scooter daily and gave him total independence ,and since not being able to get around independently has started to suffer with depression, so myself with the help of my husband and 3 children have decided to raise the funds needed ourselves. We have wrote to lots of company?s, and different people to see if they would donate any items to be auctioned off on eBay. Items are coming in on a daily basis and will be added to this auction as and when. We needed to raise £3000.00 for a heavy duty scooter, but a company in Bristol called ?ACL Mobility? have kindly offered a discount of £800 off a suitable scooter for him which reduces the amount to £2200.00.
If anybody would like to make a donation to the fund they can do so buy sending a payment made payable to ?ACL Mobility? to Unit 5 306 Estate,242-244 Broomhill Road,Bristol,BS4 5RG.Any amount raised over the amount needed will be donated to a children?s disability charity.
but also at the support she is getting from people so far.
Thank you.
