My sister has brought a buggy from her and by the looks of it, she has been scammed. Dazedandconfusedmum I noticed your name in the auction list? Do you have an address for her???

Why not email the boat seller as previously suggested?

I think this woman's account has been hijacked...

SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2007 14:39

I suggested this to my sister and she said that she would. Thing is that she sent out a CD that finished after the buggies, so surely she would have seen the hi-jack if it was a hi-jack

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2007 14:41

but if they had hi-jacked the ebay account surely they would have had to hi-jack the paypal too....

Yeah it is weird, but sometimes I don't check my feedback for ages...i just log straight into my ebay and see what i have to send out...

Is very weird though - has your sister put in a charge back claim with her c/card now?

mumto3girls · 21/02/2007 14:43

Yes i fo think they have manahed to hijack both..perhaps she was sill enpugh to send her details to a spoof ebay email?

SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2007 14:44

she paid using a transfer from her bank to paypal to the seller. She is also phoning her bank to see if she can recall the payment or anything

OP posts:
ComeOVeneer · 21/02/2007 14:44

I don't think this is a hijack. He/she hasn't been on ebay long, sold a lot of little things over a short period of time, to set up plenty of positive feedback, then has gone in for the kill (so to speak). It reeks of a set-up scam.

mumto3girls · 21/02/2007 14:47

it's terrible...awful to make money out of theft and fraud

SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2007 14:48

He/she has only be on ebay for 3 months, been selling for less than a month, lots of CDs, and then the buggies, which was the last thing to be listed.

I just feel so sorry for all those pregnant/new mums that thought they were buying off a good ebayer and now this, they must all be devastated. And ebay not freezing the account, when they got the complaints hasn;t helped as there will be no funds left to refund the buyers. I told my sister that she should sue ebay for not freezing the account straight away as they are aiding and abetting fraud and theft

OP posts:
oliveoil · 21/02/2007 14:52

this is awful

all those women who are pregant (or mothers already) ripped off

SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2007 14:59

I know OO. I am still hoping that the buggies will turn up, but its looking unlikely. Misdee said that someone on a pram forum she is on, went to the woman's house and it was all closed up and noone answered the door.

grouchyoscar · 21/02/2007 15:15

Bally Hell...and the feedback prior to this appeared so positive. What a scummy thing to do.

Sparkly, get your sis to claim from paypal or her credit card if she paid by that.

SparklyGothKat · 21/02/2007 23:51

apparently the seller's paypal has been frozen. My sister contacted the boat seller, but he doesn't want to know, even though he would be recieving stolen money

OP posts:
dreaminofoz · 22/02/2007 08:56

well if the boat seller doesnt want to know, he'll be sorry. When they come to recover the stolen money, they'll come and take it back off the boat man and then he'll have no money and no boat!

mumto3girls · 22/02/2007 10:38

Hi Sparkly

How did you find out about the paypal being frozen?
Wish the boat man had been more helpful!!!

divamumplus · 22/02/2007 12:06

have u heard from dacm?

SparklyGothKat · 22/02/2007 13:45

My mum said that my sister had told her that the paypal has been frozen, maybe they have emailed my sister. DACM did email me, unfortunely her SIL also brought one from this seller. DACM managed to get the address too.

Have people been to the address yet? I am sure their local police can pay them a visit as there was something similar to this on bounty.com a while back. I really hope your sister and all the other poor buyers get their money back.

theflumpsmum · 23/02/2007 10:05

haven't read alll the posts but have read most of them.
Please see the Ebay and Paypal warning thread I've just posted.
I'm not condoning this seller but it could be it wasn't her fault.

I hope anyone thats been 'done' by these people get their money returned.

SparklyGothKat · 23/02/2007 18:58

another 2 negative feedbacks, for CDs this time.

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 27/02/2007 11:42

He/she is no longer registered with ebay, would ebay have done that, or she/he??

OP posts:
UCM · 27/02/2007 14:34

Perhaps they set up the account selling cd's to get good feedback then planned this as a scam as people would trust them.

Really really awful. Especially as most people buying a buggy only have a set aside amount of money. Tis terrible.

kittylette · 27/02/2007 14:38

omg thats awful
