Seller cannot give neutral/negative feedback to buyer?

A buyer gave me a negative feedback because I cancelled an item because the price was incorrect (I forgot to factor in the paypal fees) and relisted with a higher price.

I actually accepted her best offer price so she did not pay the new price.

Now she left me a neutral feedback because of the relisting with a higher price.

I wanted to leave a neutral feedback but found out the only option is positive.

Is this correct?

My point is, if she had a problem with the new price, she had the option NOT to buy it. Plus, her best offer price which I accepted was even near the first price.

The best offer price is less than half of RRP.

I think her leaving you a neutral was fair enough. It wasn't exactly a smooth purchase was it?

You haven't been able to leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers for years and years. Exactly because some people like you couldn't work out what was reasonable behaviour - "I'm giving you a neutral because you gave me one" is not on.

I'd be pissed too if an item got cancelled and relisted at a higher price.
Its noit the buyers fault that you fucked up, why should they be happy about paying more?

Would you gonto Tesco, pick up a item for £5 and be happy at the till when they apologise and tell you that really its £15? Of course you wouldn't.

For clarification, the first listing had NO bids when I cancelled it and relisted.

Then how did she give you a negative? You can only give feedback on bids you have won

First listing - no bids. I noticed the price was incorrect so I relisted it --> SECOND LISTING.

Second listing - buyer sent a best offer price. This is where she left the neutral because I cancelled the first listing WITHOUT BIDS and relisted.

I'm not surprised the buyer left you neutral feedback! And now you want to leave them neutral?

This is the reason ebay stopped sellers being able to leave buyers neutral / neg FB!

Sorry, buyer left you negative feedback, not neutral. But still, I would do the same!

If the buyer wanted the item, she should have bid on the first listing so the price could have been locked up. But there was no bids.

No she left a neutral. Said the item was perfect but it was relisted with a higher price.

I don't think it's on for a buyer to give feedback on an item they missed out on in the circumstances described. I think you're correct OP but beyond phoning ebay and being very lucky with a sympathetic customer services person, you'll just have to accept this.

The buyer didn't "miss out" on the previous item the OP cancelled the order and re listed at a higher price!

The Buyer is being a jerk, but Ebay appears to support jerky buyers.

First listing: auction, NO BIDS. I noticed the incorrect starting price so cancelled the listing to relist it.

Second listing: Buy it Now. Buyer even submitted Best Offer Price which was close to original starting price. I agreed. Buyer left a feedback for the second listing by stating the circumstances of the first listing. Eventhough she or anyone else did not put a bid.

My point is: if the buyer wanted to lock in the price of the item, she could have bid on the first listing - auction. But she did not.

How many times have you explained yourself on this thread OP? For some strange reason some posters just aren't reading what you've put in your posts. I don't know why.

You are in the right. You were unlucky to get an arse of a buyer. You're probably stuck with the feedback unless you can persuade an ebay person in a phonecall to remove it. I'd give it a go.

You're right. It's just frustrating.

Anyway, I sent an email to eBay explaining my situation. It's my first neutral feedback in 300 transactions and it's really annoying.

yanbu, that is absurd, I think you could win that one on appeal (whether it's worth the hassle I dunno). But honestly, how can they complain about what you previously listed it for in an auction with no bids! Completely stupid.

Exactly. That's why it's frustrating I can't explain myself by replying to the feedback because there's no option to.

I am afraid you'll reply hastily with something against Ebay guidelines. I'd wait for their reply to your email before replying to the f/back.

Just an update - eBay said they are with me in this matter but they can't remove the feedback but advises me to contact the buyer to revise my feedback.
