Has Ebay changed the way the bidders ID looks on a auction?

Whats all this Bidder 1, bidder 2 , bidder 3 business??

DH wants me to bid on a trailer for the car, currently it's £300, I have't been on ebay for a while so haven't seen this bidder ID thing before....is it all apart of ebay now?
Kind of looks a bit suss to me....

Off to look... I'm confused at the fact that I can't do a ME page anymore (or whatever it was called)

they've changed it in some areas where scamming's more prevalent (not in crafts where i usually hang out ) so nothing's amiss.

When I was listing something earlier it gave you the option to keep bidders anonnymous... could that be it? Clicked on a few auctions and some have names like before, and some are the bidder1 etc

here, look at the bid history

It looks dodgy to me....

LTH - have you seen the bid above the bidding history in the box

"As online shopping evolves, eBay continues to focus on preserving our marketplace's open and level playingfield whilst protecting our Community of members. We have decided to change how bid history information is displayed so unscrupulous people cannot target bidders with fake offers using this information. In certain cases, some bidders will no longer be able to see other bidder's User IDs on the listing page. Your User ID will be shown only to you and the seller of the item you're bidding on. Other members will see an anonymous name, such as Bidder 1, Bidder 2 etc."
