on the 22nd jan someone bought a dress off me for £21.99 + p&p. it still had tags and cost me £45. on the 5th feb i got an email asking if they could refund it. i said i would once it was returned. heard nothing since the 9th feb when they said they would post it on mon. yesterday i saw it up for sale for £25. they emailed me today asking for my address so they could send it back. see here ive sent this to them and got this back am i in the right here, or just being a grouchy cow?

ive sent this - hi, i noticed yesterday that you relisted the dress to sell. therefore i shant be offering a refund on it. im very sorry but i bought the dress and sold it in good faith. its been a month since you bought the dress. i dont think its fair to expect me to refund.

im very sorry, and i wish you luck in selling the dress on.

to them and got this back - its been two weeks since i asked ya for your address, this is unfair i only listed it up there because you wuldnt send me your address. you told em you would refund it the dress is in the same condition as when i bought it.
am i being a grouchy cow or are they trying their luck?

Hmmm, maybe she asked for you address before and it didn't get to you?

It doesn't seem dodgy to me, her trying to sell it, presumably she'll mail it back to you and remove it from sale. I don't really see the problem here ...

Was the date on the email today?Sometimes they can get lost? otherwise no I would be cross too!

lissielou · 18/02/2007 16:38

i dont normallyoffer refunds and i offered one in good faith, but theyve tried to sell the dress, failed and emailed me today wanting a refund

Did you ever state that you offered an unconditional refund if it was in resaleable condition ? tbh sounds as if she is trying it on but if she did ask that she could return it if it didn't fit her and you implied it was ok then she can but try .

lissielou · 18/02/2007 16:48

tbh, i didnt mind refunding really coz i know how frustrating it can be, but she even used the same pic ffs! it just seemed cheeky. my original offer was-

normally i would not refund but in this case i will either refund you once i have received the item back or i will exchange for one of the other items in my shop. i do have another smock which i could email you a picture of if you like.
