Would it be OTT to take a photo of buyer with item when he collects?

I do have selling experience on ebay but so far it's been postal only. I've just sold 2 heavy things which the buyers are collecting. One has already paid via Paypal and the other is giving me cash on collection.

I've heard so many horror stories that I'm wondering if it would be OTT of me to take a quick snap of the buyer holding the item, as well as getting them to sign a receipt? Money involved is £50 and £30.

I would refund the Paypal and ask for cash on collection only.

Even if I have proof they collected it?

Dusty yes! eBay wont be interested in photos of people. Trying to get them to approve a photo if anything went wrong would be a nightmare. That photo could be anyone, eBay don't know what this person looks like. You need to refund the PayPal payment immediately and state cash on collection.
When selling large pick up items you need to state cash on collection as only payment. This provides you with maximum protection from this dangerous loop hole.

Yes, definitely refund the PayPal and get payment in Cash!

Never take PayPal for collection items. You have zero rights.

Refund the paypal and tell them cash on collection only.

A photo will make diddly squats worth of a difference.

When paying with PP the ONLY way to maintain your seller protection is to send the item by a service with a tracking number which proves delivery online. Which obviously you can't get for a collected item.
