Is my buyer chancing his arm?

I sold a coat (used but great condition) and my buyer is demanding a full refund.
He says the coat has defects, all minor and don't affect the usage of the coat.
I have replied apologising for any defects I hadn't noticed and offered a partial refund of 35%.
He has now sent a refund request to eBay.
I think he's taking the piss, expecting brand new for second hand prices.
Any advice, please.

If it matters the brand of coat retails at £210+ new and mine was sold for £25

Your buyer has to return the coat at his own cost before you refund. I'd let him get on with it to be honest.

He is also refusing to pay postage to return to me.

All of previous. Maybe sell it on facebook instead, next time.

If he has opened a case 'Not as described' then, I think, Ebay send prepaid postage to him & that amount gets deducted from your paypal (sorry).

You really do get screwed over when a sale goes wrong.

Make sure you provide the refund according to ebay's Resolution process:

Refund the buyer within 6 business days of receiving a returned item.

Don't be bullied into handing over money before you receive the item back in the same state that you sent it.

Unfortunately if he has opened a not as described case, eBay will issue him with a returns label and £2.99 will be added onto your eBay fees.

Personally I don't offer partial refunds unless I know I am definitely in the wrong. If you're 100% confident the item was correctly described, with any flaws listed and photographed, then insist on a return for a full refund only.

dickie, that is incorrect. If a not as described return is requested the seller must provide a label for the return of the item. The buyer does not have to cover the cost.

Hello again.
My buyer has now decided to keep the coat and accept my offer of a partial refund.
I can't find direction from eBay on site as how to go about it.
Can anyone help please

Has the buyer opened a not as described case / return request? If so the option to offer a partial refund will be in there.

If not get them to open a return request as above and you can partially refund.

You can also do it directly through PayPal, but doing it through eBay means the matter is closed and put to bed, so there will be no further comebacks.
